The Tubulifera (Hexapoda, Thysanoptera) of the Maltese Islands

This work records the presence of 13 species tubuliferan thrips from Maltese Islands. Eleven these species, namely Bolothrips dentipes , B. insularis Priesneriella mavromoustakisi Gynaikothrips uzeli Haplothrips acanthoscelis H. aculeatus setiger tritici Karnyothrips flavipes Liothrips reuteri and Neoheegeria dalmatica are new for Two species: ficorum can be described as subcosmopolitan in distribution, another three distributed across Holarctic Palaearctic regions, while a further seven: oleae L. have European and/or Mediterranean distribution. G. considered alien species. A key to Tubulifera Islands well chorological data recorded provided this work.
